Why We Are Building Cush

By Wale Ameen

Moving to a new country is exciting, but it also comes with significant challenges—especially for expatriates, students, and professionals trying to settle in. From accessing loans for school fees to finding affordable housing and navigating complex documentation, the journey can be overwhelming. Having personally experienced some of these struggles, I knew something had to change.

A Personal Mission Turned into a Vision

My entrepreneurial journey began years ago when I founded one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing bulk messaging platforms, Datastream Solutions. However, my passion for solving real-world problems has led me to a new frontier—helping migrants access financial solutions, job opportunities, and settlement resources with ease.

In January 2024, we introduced Imisi, the first-of-its-kind UK migration chatbot. Imisi answered thousands of migration-related questions—from visa applications to job searches—proving that people needed a single, reliable source for migration clarity. Their biggest pain points? Accessing financial support, securing jobs, finding affordable schools, and securing housing.

Launching Cush: More Than Just a Platform

In January 2025, we launched Cush, not just as another fintech solution, but as a game-changer for expatriates. Our goal? To provide access to soft loans, credit solutions, pathway advisory, and seamless documentation processing.

Why Cush Matters

📌 Credit Access: Migrants often struggle to secure loans due to short credit histories. Cush is building a solution to bridge this gap.
📌 Pathway Advisory: From finding the right school to securing a job, Cush provides personalized guidance.
📌 Seamless Documentation: We simplify and fast-track document processing for a stress-free transition.

The problem is clear, and so is our solution. Cush is here to empower expatriates with financial and settlement tools, making their relocation experience smoother and more successful.

We are just getting started.
